Class time is devoted to teaching the students the letters of the alphabets, beginning sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, counting, etc. The children also use puzzles, building blocks and other manipulatives to help increase the child’s problem solving skills.
The children are encouraged to use their creative skills by incorporating the weekly letter, number, shape and color into artistic creations. These types of activities are used to build upon what children already know, and assist the child in making a smoother transition toward consolidating learned skills in order to develop newer concepts and skills.
Children are also encouraged to learn and develop through exploring their surroundings. The children are encouraged to participate in activities that allow the child to express their individuality which helps to promote positive self-esteem. Child-initiated activities are also encouraged which allows for cooperation between others, which promotes social development.
