The children got the opportunity to visit the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (沖縄美ら海水族館, Okinawa Churaumi Suizokan), located within the Ocean Expo Commemorative National Government Park here in Okinawa, Japan. It is the world's second largest aquarium behind the Georgia aquarium located in Atlanta. The children enjoyed the dolphin shows and their experience seeing marine life up close.
The aquarium has a total of 77 tanks and is a part of the Ocean Expo Commemorative National Government Park located in Motobu, Okinawa. The aquarium is made up of four floors, with tanks containing deep sea creatures, sharks, coral and tropical fish.
The main tank, called the Kuroshio Sea, holds 1,981,000 gallons of water and features an acrylic glass panel measuring 24 inches in thickness.
